Acupuncture has been used for centuries to relieve pain. In the right hands, acupuncture can effectively reduce muscle tension and assist in pain relief of musculoskeletal complaints.
The practice involves inserting acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points, for between 10 and 20 minutes.
Our highly skilled physios use acupuncture on patients with a variety of complaints including:
- Migraines
- Neck pain
- Jaw pain
- Shoulder pain including Frozen shoulder
- Bursitis
- Lower back pain
- Osteo arthritis
Dry Needling
Similar to acupuncture, dry needling is the placement of needles to relieve pain.
Specifically, our physios use dry needling on a trigger point or ‘knot’ of contracted muscles. The needle releases the muscle and reduces tension to help restore movement.
